The shooting of “Mandavetti,” directed and produced by Saranraj Senthilkumar under the banner of Tuskers Den Pictures, has been successfully completed. The film featuringKomalee Prasad as the protagonist, marks the wrap-up of an intense and demanding shooting schedule that brought together a passionate team of artists and technicians.

Conceived as a dark and atmospheric supernatural crime thriller, Mandavetti explores the emotional and psychological journey of a woman navigating loss, identity, and survival. With its strong female protagonist and immersive narrative tone, the film aims to present a distinctive cinematic experience that blends raw human emotions with mystical elements.

Given the story’s demand for a remote and distinctive setting, nearly 80 percent of the film was shot outdoors, with the entire schedule completed in a single stretch to maintain visual continuity and tonal consistency. Despite the hot and humid climatic conditions, the cast and crew travelled nearly 100 kilometres every day to reach the location. The terrain was rugged, marked by thorns and harsh sunlight, but these natural conditions ultimately enhanced the authenticity and visual depth of the story.

The production also witnessed heartwarming support from the local community. Several villagers from Usilampatti and the surrounding regions of Madurai appeared on screen for the first time, adding a layer of realism to the film’s world. One of the most challenging sequences involved filming a crucial scene in a real village cemetery, an experience that demanded both emotional intensity and technical precision. The team has expressed sincere gratitude to the villagers for their warmth, cooperation, and encouragement throughout the shoot.

A unique spiritual element also surrounds the film’s narrative. The imaginatively created character “Senji,” a local goddess who plays a central role in the story, holds deep significance within the film. Interestingly, throughout the shoot, the entire team felt a sense of protection and positivity, believing that the presence of the Senji goddess watched over the production during its most demanding moments.

While the successful wrap marks a major milestone, the journey of Mandavetti now moves into its next and equally crucial phase. The filmmakers have already begun work on post-production, where the visual and emotional magic captured on set will be carefully shaped for the screen.

With its powerful storyline, immersive atmosphere, and dedicated creative team, Mandavetti promises to offer audiences a bold and engaging cinematic experience.
