Split - Manoj Night Shyamalan's terrific comeback after a decade of not so commendable scripts from him.

Split is basically a kidnap drama with enough twists and turns to keep you engaged throughout the film. The lead character with DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder) with 23 distinct personalities, kidnaps 3 young girls who should try and escape him before the most dangerous 24th personality, The Beast, emerges.

M Night Shyamalan is in top notch form and in complete control of the script. The screenplay is clever and twisted. A screenplay which travels as a slow burner suspense for almost 90 minutes, suddenly shifts to top gear and enthrals the audience with its last 20 minutes. The most amazing twist was not even during the climax but the shot before the credits start to roll. So do not miss out on that scene.

James McAvoy as the man of many personalities is a deadly existence and shows the different personalities with so much ease. He is on total fire in front of the camera. Anya Taylor-Joy as the calm and composed young girl was sensational throughout the movie. It could be really difficult to play such a role in an intense film but brings out the emotions so beautifully. While James McAvoy acts with his complete body and face, Anya steals with her expressions.

Split is a must watch film especially M Night Shayamalan fans who have missed the in form director for over a decade. With the brilliant twist during the ending scene, fans will now eagerly look forward to Shyamalan's next script.

SPLIT - Brilliant Engaging Thriller.
