The Mummy Movie Review
An actor such as Tom Cruise, who single-handedly made us watch the entire Mission Impossible series himself...

Directed by: Alex Kurtzman

Starring: Tom Cruise, Annabelle Wallis, Sofia Boutella, Jake Johnson, Courtney B. Vance, Marwan Kenzari, Javier Botet, Russell Crowe

Reboot of a fan favourite series such as Mummy requires meticulous planning and with the added pressure of being the opening movie of The Dark Universe, so much relies on this film. Even with Tom Cruise and Russel Crowe (who really doesn't have much to do in this film) the movie falls flat and makes us wonder why on the first note was this superhit movie series rebooted.

The movie touted to be a Horror-Action flick, doesn't satisfy either genre. An actor such as Tom Cruise, who single-handedly made us watch the entire Mission Impossible series himself couldn't save the movie. The movie neither has a satisfying horror sequence nor a compelling action block satisfying the viewers who in all mind was expecting a solid reboot of The Mummy. To say, the movie was quite disappointing wouldn't be an understatement.

The bigger question now will be, what is the future of the Dark Universe?? Hopefully, Universal will want a solid story backed up by some interesting screenplay and not just bank on an extraordinary star power.
