IND vs NZL 2nd Test, Day 4 India lead by 339 runs against New Z
KOLKATA: India are in commanding position against New Zealand in the second Test in Kolkata after taking a 339-run lead in the second innings with two wickets left.
Wriddhiman Saha and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, the two overnight batsmen for India will look to take the lead closer to 400 and set New Zealand a big total to chase when play resumes on fourth day at the Eden Gardens.
Earlier on Day 3, India bowled out New Zealand for 204, taking a first innings lead of 112 runs.
But New Zealand pacers rocked India in the second innings and dismissed five batsmen before the 50-run mark. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma then brought stability with matured knocks with the former scoring 45 and the latter batting for 82 runs.
Rohit was sublime in particluar with his stroke making and never looked is problem on a tricky pitch that had uneven bounce. Saha supported Rohit and was unbeated at 39 at the end of the day.
