Reliance Jio: Subscriber base crosses 50 million
NEW DELHI: Mukesh Ambani's telecom service Reliance Jio has crossed 50 million subscriber base since its launch in early September, ramping up the number in 83 days.
Ambani had launched the 4G-only service on September and one of the biggest USP offered by the new operator was lifetime free voice calling across the country. Also, under a 'welcome offer', the company had said that all services, including data browsing, will be free on its network till the end of the year.
"We have crossed the 50-million mark in a record 83 days. The current rate of growth translates into acquiring around 6 lakh customers on a daily basis," a company official told.
