Kaatru Veliyidai Movie Review
Ravi Varman who mesmerises every shot with his brilliant visuals in Kaatru Veliyidai and academy award winner A.R. Rahman with his fabulous and peppy music...

One of the most sought after directors of Indian cinema Mani Ratnam's romantic entertainer "Kaatru Veliyidai" released in theatres today.

A slow, poised, visually extravagant, rich locales but hardly connecting to the audience. Looks like a very elite movie made for elite audience but there is a doubt that the movie would even strike a chord with such audience.

Cinematographer Ravi Varman who mesmerises every shot with his brilliant visuals and academy award winner A.R. Rahman's fabulous and peppy music are the only two things to take from this film.

Karthi as Fighter Pilot seems like a misfit. Aditi Rao Hydari easily steals the show in this film and is the best character written for the movie.

The beautiful songs and visuals are the only ones that keeps you hooked to the first half of the film and sadly the second half falls flat.

Varun and Leela (Karthi and Aditi) are nothing but super sophisticated versions of Inba and Sasi (Madhavan & Meera Jasmine) of Aaytha Ezhuthu. Diametrically opposite characters falling in love and what was expected to be a very emotional and romantic second half, disappoints.

The only saving grace for this film, MUSIC AND VISUALS... Both together look like a beautiful painting on a big screen.
