The Nun 2 - Movie Review

The Nun 2 is a 2023 American supernatural horror film directed by Michael Chaves and written by Akela Cooper. It is a sequel to the 2018 film The Nun and the ninth installment in The Conjuring Universe. The film stars Taissa Farmiga, Jonas Bloquet, Storm Reid, and Anna Popplewell.

The film is set four years after the events of the first film. Sister Irene (Farmiga) is now a full-fledged nun and is sent to investigate the murder of a priest at a boarding school in France. She soon discovers that the school is haunted by the demon nun Valak (Bonnie Aarons).

The Nun 2 is a more atmospheric and character-driven film than its predecessor. The atmosphere is incredibly creepy and unsettling. The film does a great job of creating a sense of dread and unease though it takes time to settle in. The characters are well-developed and relatable. We care about what happens to them, and we're invested in their journey. The scares are genuinely effective. There are a few jump scares that will make you jump out of your seat, but the film also relies on more subtle forms of horror, such as suspense and dread.

However, the film is not without its flaws. The plot is a bit convoluted, and the pacing can be slow at times. The film also relies too heavily on jump scares, and few of the scares are predictable.

Overall, The Nun 2 is a solid horror film that is sure to please fans of the genre. The film is well-acted, creepy, suspenseful and genuinely scary in most places
