Kriti Kharbanda returns after a break
Kriti Kharbanda has been missing in action in Sandalwood for a while, which her detractors attributed to a lack of offers. But the actress, who begins work on a new film called Papu this week, says that truth is far from that.
"Honestly, I have not been doing anything for the past three months or so. There were projects that I had committed to that got pushed due to changes in scripting and others that were on a break, which worked well for me as I had to deal with several personal tragedies in these months," says Kriti.
"I lost three of my grandparents recently, all of whom I was very close to. It was emotionally very upsetting and losing them took a toll on me," she added.
Papu, meanwhile, is a feel-good love story that will see Kriti team up with Srinagara Kitty. "I really liked the script. At the core, it is a love story targeted at the youth, but director S Mahender is known for his family dramas, so that element will also be a part of it, making the film ideal for all. My character is so strong that she doesn't depend much on the hero," says Kriti.
Sources said that, the USP of the film is that it is a love story between an older man who has struggled all his life and had no time for romance and a young girl.
